No-Scalpel Vasectomy

The No-Scalpel vasectomy is unique as it utilizes a small puncture wound (instead of an incision) on the surface of the scrotum with a special instrument to allow lifting of the vas deferens out to be divided, a small section removed, and the ends sutured, cauterized or clipped. This is usually performed with a local anesthetic in less than 30 minutes through a single puncture site in the middle of the scrotum. It is thought to have less post operative discomfort with decreased risk of bleeding or infection.
